TIP 1 - Play together
I think it is very important to play with a teacher. It is more fun to play together. I often accompany children on keyboard, guitar or piano. Playing together is more fun.

TIP 2 - Play improvisations
It is nice to improvise on a theme. I call it jamming. It promotes a musical awareness in the children and improves their sense of rhythm. This is a subconscious process. Jamming together is dynamic, a lot goes on and
it is an interesting event for both the child and the teacher. For Jams I use the DJX keyboards of yamaha. They are inexpensive and instead of bosa nova/ polka/ ballroom rhythm it has only hiphop/ disco/ reggae/ rave/ dance/ jungle/ trance. Success guaranteed with most of the kids! No.1

TIP 3 - Midifiles
On the internet you can find almost every song as a midifile. Good to play along on the WX5. The VL70 has a transposing function to put the WX in the right key.

TIP 4 - Switch setting on the WX5
These are the switch settings I use. The wind gain and the wind zero are also very important! They can be set with a screwdriver. Use the turnable button to tune the WX5.

TIP 5 - Using a piece of wood to fixate unused keys

 
TIP 6 - Use a homemade mount to put the WX5 on a microphone stand
We are still looking for an easier solution. The best would be to have one you can click on to the instrument. Do you have a simple solution? Let me know.

TIP 7 - Easy Learning
Bits and pieces from the hardware store. Towels are also handy. You can use a straw instead of a mouthpiece. The length of the straw creates the optimum distance and angle to play the instrument.

 

Tip 8 - The transpose buttons
To go up or down an octave there are transpose buttons on the backside of the flute. I'm still looking for a simple way to the transpose notes (an octave up or down) on the WX5. Do you have a simple selution? Let me know.

Tip 9 - The bug
There is a bug in the WX5 VL 70 combination. As soon as you hit the pitchbendwheel on the WX5, the sound module goes out of tune. Do you have a simple selution? Let me know. The top Vl 70 is in tune, on the other it is out of tune.

Tip 10 - Simple method to transcribe songs
To learn a song as easy as possible I developed a very simple method to transcribe songs.

 

Tip 11 - Mobilize your equipment
It speaks for itself.
